The Perfect Ontario Resort Wedding Venue

As one of Ontario’s premier lakeside resorts, we have been hosting memorable and romantic weddings for nearly a century. Severn Lodge is located in the heart of the world famous Muskoka ~ Georgian Bay lake district and is nestled along the picturesque shores of Gloucester Pool, part of the historic Trent Severn Waterway. The resort encompasses over 2000 feet of private shoreline, is surrounded by hundreds of acres of pristine woodlands, and has a breathtaking view of numerous pine clad islands and sheltered bays.

Severn Lodge offers you a very magical setting for a romantic Ontario resort wedding weekend. Our spectacular views and unique location, coupled with the privacy of having the entire resort dedicated only to your wedding, will provide you and your guests with a very unique experience. As one of the few remaining traditional Ontario resorts, Severn Lodge is steeped in the history of both Ontario resorts and the grand Muskoka resorts of yesteryear. Exclusive Use of the Resort!

We host weddings during the months of May, June, September & October.  For most weekend weddings, we require a minimum of 100 guests for your wedding dinner, a minimum of 46 rooms booked by your guests for the Saturday night, and a minimum of 23 rooms for the Friday night.  For this, we guarantee exclusive use of the resort for your wedding.  These minimum requirements may not be applicable at other times and for weddings on other days of the week. Please ask our wedding coordinator for details.

Hosting Fee

The Hosting Fee is what the bride/groom pay to have their wedding hosted at Severn Lodge.  The following items are included in this fee:

  • Dining Room for rehearsal dinner
  • Regatta Room for social activities
  • Georgian Room for wedding preparations
  • Resort recreation facilities (see below)
  • 1 night complimentary guest room for the bride and groom
  • Wedding chairs set up on the beach or lawn for the wedding ceremony
  • Arched arbour that can be decorated with flowers if desired
  • Tent (30′ x 40′) to be erected on the front lawn overlooking our waterfront
  • Registry table
  • Gift tables
  • Wedding reception after wedding ceremony
  • Dining Room for wedding dinner & dance
  • All set-ups and tear-downs
  • Onsite event coordinator

The following items are not included in the Hosting Fee

  • Food
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Beach bonfires
  • Arrival of bridal party in vintage cruise boat (see below)

Please note, wedding guests not staying at the Lodge are not permitted to use any of the resorts recreation facilities and should not arrive on the property until the time of the wedding ceremony.

Guest Accommodations

All guest accommodations are housed in buildings surrounding the Main Lodge and have a view of our magnificent waterfront. There are 46 warmly appointed rooms and suites that have a full compliment of guest amenities. All accommodations feature one or more beds, private bathrooms, a lakeside sitting area, individual heat and air conditioning, small refrigerator, colour TV, telephone, high speed wireless internet, AM/FM clock radio, hair dryer, coffee maker, and a lakeside deck, patio or balcony. A Fun-Filled Weekend Getaway for Your Guests

In addition to attending the wedding, your guests will also be able to enjoy a fun-filled weekend by choosing a one or two night resort getaway package complete with waterfront accommodations, a delicious country fresh breakfast each morning, use of most resort recreation amenities, baggage handling, and auto parking.

Bridal Party Arrival in Classic Mahogany Motor Launch

There is nothing more romantic than being married at a beautiful Muskoka resort, and what could be better than to have the bride and bridal party arrive at our main dock for the wedding ceremony in our classic 37’ Ditchburn mahogany motor launch. This vintage craft was originally built in 1922 for Lady Eaton, wife of Sir Timothy Eaton and founder of the Eaton Department Stores. Severn Lodge has owned it since 1946.

Boat Cruises – “Islands of Gloucester Pool Cruise”

Your wedding guests can also enjoy a one hour cruise in this same launch to view the spectacular islands and magnificent summer homes on Gloucester Pool, part of the historic Trent Severn Waterway.  Guests would pay individually for this cruise, if scheduled.

A World of Recreation

Your guests will not only be attending your wedding, but they will also be enjoying a fun-filled Ontario resort getaway. They will be able to take advantage of a host of recreation facilities including canoes, pedal boats, stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, mountain bikes, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, 100 acres of wooded hiking trails, games room, heated pool & hot tub, sandy beach and lake swimming, fishing, water park with 25′ trampoline, blaster, & climbing pyramid, outboard boat & jet-ski rentals, and more!  Other recreational options include golf at one of several area courses, horseback riding at a nearby stable, or water-skiing & tubing right off our front dock.

Sea Plane & Helicopter Rides

Your guests can see our beautiful Muskoka ~ Georgian Bay lake country from the air. They will enjoy the thrill of taking off and landing on the water which is an experience of a lifetime.

On-Site Event Coordinator

We offer on-site event coordination to help with every detail from the wedding ceremony itself to the reception, dinner and dance. In addition, we are more than pleased to attend to those special touches that will make your wedding unique.
